Amount

Please send 2-3 purple top tubes. NCRAD will provide the blood kits.

Shipping Information

Please ship Monday-Thursday.

Friday Blood Draws

Please hold blood drawn on a Friday at room temperature over the weekend and ship on Monday.

Sample Form

Form available in web-based or downloadable format. It may be submitted electronically, emailed to alzstudy@iu.edu, or faxed.Please email or fax the sample form in advance of shipping the sample. This ensures that NCRAD knows to expect the sample and can track the sample if it is not delivered as expected.

Amount/Region

Please send 2-5g of brain tissue. Please maximize the amount of gray matter; frontal cortex is preferred but any region will suffice.

Required Tubes

Any self-standing polypropylene 30mL tube with a diameter similar to a 50mL tube is fine.Some examples are:

• DOT Scientific Part number 642; 30mL self-standing centrifuge tube
• Fisher Part number 22-044-320; Evergreen Scientific 30mL freestanding centrifuge tube

Shipping Information

Please ship frozen specimens Monday-Wednesday only.When shipping brain tissue, please use dry ice pellets instead of chunks. The chunks can often break the sample tubes in transit.

• Minimum Concentration of 0.1μg/μl
• Minimum volume of 50 μl
